LESSON OVERVIEW

Video 01: Follow Compliance and TOS for Scaling

  • In this video, we talk about the foundation of scaling, but more specifically following guidelines and the terms of service. A lot of us run into these issues with compliance all the time. And often it's because of subtle changes made to the network that we are unaware of.
  • Of course, you can get ads approved, but that doesn't mean long term. In the beginning, your ads get approved by a bot and once they're approved your ads may get a manual review. This is like a second screening to see whether or not you are within compliance on that network. There are plenty of people who've reported that as soon as their ads were approved, all of a sudden their account was shut down, or their ads were rejected or their business manager was shut down.
  • So keep in mind that whenever you are launching something, you have to think, am I even borderline with the terms of service here? Whether it's the copy, the image, the video, something you're saying in the video, is it on the landing page? If it's not something that you could put out there that will keep people at least in a positive light, or keep them with positive energy when looking at your ads and it could lead someone to become angry at what you say or may cause them to say something that is deemed negative by Facebook. If so, well, you might not want to publish. Let's not forget that high negative feedback can cause people to report your ad as spam.
  • Reporting it as a scam is stating that you're not delivering a product and even just reporting your whole page saying that it's a scam or a spam page that's not promoting anything of value or substance can easily get you shut down. This includes your account and your ads. So if you find that when you launch something, if a lot of the comments are negative or if people are talking a lot of crap on your ads, it's probably best to start over and put something else in place.
  • Are you adding value to the user experience? Are you generating hacks, happiness, and thoughtfulness with the people you're advertising two? If not, you have a higher chance of getting shut down, not just from an ad standpoint, but overall. So if you're looking to scale, make sure you're still within compliance.

LESSON TRANSCRIPT

David (00:01):

Hey, everyone. Welcome back. And in this video, we're talking about the foundation of scaling, but specifically following guidelines and the terms of service. Now I know this seems like, Oh my God, of course, of course, I'm going to do this because without being able to follow the guide headlines given to us by Facebook and Instagram, we wouldn't be able to run ads, but a lot of us run into these issues with compliance all the time. And oftentimes it's because subtle changes made to the network that we are unaware of. Now, of course you are in this course, you know that there is a section called direct from my rep. That's going to help you stay up to date with what's going on within the network so that you don't run into any issues of not being aware of when something changes, but let's do it a little deeper than that.

David (00:44):

We know that fear and hype is not cool in this network. Now, of course you can get ads approved, but that doesn't mean longterm. Something's going to run. Remember that manual reviews often occur after your ads have already been approved. Meaning in the beginning, your ads get approved from a bot. And once they're approved after several days, it's very possible that your ads will get a manual review, sort of like a second screening to see if whether or not you are within compliance on that network. There are plenty of people who've reported that as soon as their ads were approved, all of a sudden their account was shut down or their ads were rejected or their business manager was shut down just because your ads got approved. It doesn't matter, certainly mean you're still within the guidelines, the bot isn't perfect. And so when someone looks at your content afterwards, it's very possible that you could get projected or worse banned.

David (01:32):

So keep in mind that whenever you are launching something, you have to think, am I even borderline with the terms of service here? Is there something that I can eat easily break in the compliance in my ad? Whether it's the copy, the image, the video, is it something I'm saying in the video, is it on my landing page? So look at it this way. If it's not something that you could put out there that will keep people at least in a positive light, or keep them with positive energy when looking at your ads and it could possibly skew them in a way where maybe they get angry at what you say or my cause them to say something that is deemed negative by Facebook. If so, well, you might not want to publish. Let's not forget that a high negative feedback XCOR, which is essentially people reporting your ad is spam.

David (02:16):

Reporting it as a scam reporting that you're not delivering product when you are, or even just reporting your whole page saying that it's, it's a scam or a spam page, not promoting anything of value or substance, they could easily shut down, not just your page, but your account, your ads, the whole deal. And so oftentimes if you're finding that when you launch something, if a lot of the comments are negative or people talking a lot of crap on your ads, probably best to start over and put something else in place, the more negativity you bring to your ads, there's a higher likelihood you're going to get shut down. Um, so remember that's not in the compliance, that's not in the terms of service. That's not something they're going to tell you. So when you're putting together ads, keep in mind, are you creating a positive environment?

David (02:57):

Are you adding value to the user experience? Are you generating hacks, happiness and thoughtfulness with the people you're advertising two, if not, you have a higher chance of getting shut down, not just from an ad standpoint, but overall. So if you're looking to scale, make sure you're still within the compliance. And as you continue to spend more money on the network that you monitor those comments, because they often can say a lot about where you're going in your campaign. And with that being said, that is why you need to start paying attention to compliance the guideline and the terms of service on this awesome platform.
